General Podiatry
Services

Mint Foot Care’s signature podiatric Medical Pedicures are something very special. Enjoy a spa pedicure experience plus the skill and hygiene of a podiatry treatment. Our general podiatry services include medical pedicures, corns and callus, nails and fungal infections.

Paraffin Wax
Therapy

Paraffin wax is produced by refining the wax out of crude mineral oils. It is then purified through boiling and then chilled and pressed through a filter which creates a heavy oil, or paraffin wax. Peppermint essential oil is added to the paraffin wax treatments to provide the added benefit of aromatherapy.

Diabetic
Foot Care

Our diabetic foot care assesses overall foot health, nerves and circulation for the early detection of minor problems. This reduces the likelihood of them developing into major and disabling complications. We recommend and offer regular diabetic foot care, including medical pedicures, neurological and vascular assessments, diabetic education and ulcer dressings (if required).

Dry Needling
(Myo-Facial Trigger Point Therapy)

Dry Needling is the western form of acupuncture that targets the Myofascial Trigger Points in the body that become tight and restricted through overuse syndromes and sporting injuries.

Dry Needling involves the insertion of a sterile fine filament needle into specific sites to ‘de-activate’ active trigger points within the muscle and fascia resulting in muscle relation and pain relief. It is effective in the treatment of muscle strains, sprains, imbalances and tightness.

KeryFlex Nail
Restoration

KeryFlex is a medical grade acrylic used to cover unsightly or damaged nails to create a realistic and natural-looking nail. KeryFlex uses polymer resins and special activates to create a durable, yet flexible artificial nail when exposed to ultraviolet light.

Women may apply nail polish over the KeryFlex and also apply nail polish remover to the new nail.

Ultrasound
Therapy

Ultrasound therapy stimulates the healing of soft tissue conditions using sound waves to increase blood flow to reduce swelling and oedema. This leads to reduced pain and quicker healing times for soft tissue injuries. This treatment is painless.

Commonly used in the treatment:
Achilles tendinopathy
Plantar fasciitis
Severs disease/Osgood-Schlatter disease
– And many other conditions

Doppler Examination

A Doppler Ultrasound is a vascular assessment tool that is able to assess the blood supply to your feet, analyse the risk of ulcerations, a candidate for compression therapy in the treatment of oedema or if you require a referral to a vascular specialist. Our Doppler Ultrasound equipment is used to perform ankle and toe brachial pressure index readings.

Foot/Knee/Hip Pain

Foot, knee and hip pain can be the result of abnormal biomechanics of the feet and legs resulting in overuse injuries in the feet, knee, hip and lower back. Also poor hip and knee malalignment position can cause secondary problems in the feet. Malalignment will make soft tissues and joints much more prone to sports and overuse injuries, and over time, this will contribute to arthritic and other degenerative changes in the joints.
