Other Treatments and Services

Aside from our main podiatry services, we also provide a variety of professional treatments and services that can help you improve the health, appearance, and function of your feet.

Paraffin Wax

This therapy involves the application of paraffin wax, which is refined from crude mineral oils and purified through boiling, chilling, and pressing through a filter. We add peppermint essential oil to our paraffin wax treatments so that you get the added benefit of aromatherapy.

Foot Care

Our diabetic foot care assesses the overall health, nerves, and circulation of your feet to detect any minor problems early. This reduces the likelihood of developing major and disabling complications later if you have diabetic feet. We recommend and offer regular diabetic foot care, including medical pedicures, neurological and vascular assessments, diabetic education, and ulcer dressings (if required).

Dry Needling
(Myo-Facial Trigger Point Therapy)

Dry Needling is the western form of acupuncture, targeting the Myofascial Trigger Points in the body that often become tight and restricted through overuse syndromes and sporting injuries. This therapy involves the insertion of a sterile fine filament needle into specific sites to ‘de-activate’ active trigger points within the muscle and fascia, resulting in muscle relaxation and pain relief. Dry Needling is an effective treatment for muscle strains, sprains, imbalances, and tightness.

KeryFlex Nail

KeryFlex is a medical-grade acrylic that’s used to cover unsightly or damaged nails and create realistic, natural-looking nails. It uses polymer resins and special activates that create durable yet flexible artificial nails when exposed to ultraviolet light. You can apply nail polish and nail polish remover over KeryFlex nails whenever you want, making it easy to integrate into your daily life.

Ultrasound therapy uses sound waves to stimulate the healing of soft tissue and increase blood flow to reduce swelling and oedema. This painless and non-invasive therapy often reduces pain and stimulates quicker healing times for soft tissue injuries. It is most commonly used for Achilles Tendinopathy, Plantar Fasciitis, Severs Disease/Osgood-Schlatter Disease, and other similar foot issues.

Doppler Examination

A Doppler Ultrasound is a vascular assessment tool that evaluates the blood supply to your feet and analyses the risk of ulcerations. It can also assess whether you are a candidate for compression therapy for the treatment of oedema, or if you will require a referral to a vascular specialist. We also use Doppler Ultrasound equipment to perform ankle and toe brachial pressure index readings.

Foot/Knee/Hip Pain

We offer treatments and services for a variety of foot, knee, and hip pain often caused by the abnormal biomechanics of the feet and legs. These abnormalities can result in overuse injuries in the feet, knee, hip, and lower back. Poor hip and knee alignment can also cause secondary problems in the feet. Malalignment will make soft tissues and joints more prone to sports and overuse injuries, which, over time this will contribute to arthritis and other degenerative changes in the joints.

We provide a full range of women’s and men’s medical grade footwear from Dr. Comfort, a leading provider of diabetic and therapeutic footwear. Dr. Comfort blends comfort, style, and quality, making them perfect for those who want stylish yet comfortable medical grade footwear. Dr. Comfort is suitable for diabetics and those suffering from lower limb pathologies. They can be fitted in 1/2 sizes and three different widths, and they are ‘orthotic friendly’, with removable insoles to accommodate orthotics. Our qualified health professionals can provide advice on footwear that best suits your needs and measurements.

Children’s feet differ from those of adults as they are not yet fully formed. At Mint Foot Care, we treat children of all ages for foot issues like flat feet, in-toeing, out-toeing, Sever’s disease, knocked knees, bow legs, heel pain and growing pains. Our treatments and management plans are based on several factors, including your child’s age, family history, any associated pain, and other biomechanical factors.
